New A La Carte Menu

Monday, May 9th, 2011

From today we will have a new A La Carte Menu that will be available daily in Clarkes Restaurant.  For any guests who are interested in a snack option the light bites menu will continue to run with the A La Carte Menu.

Well… February is nearly here!

Monday, January 31st, 2011

Valentines Day is coming up and we have our romantic menu available on Saturday 12th, Sunday 13th & Monday 14th February.

Feeling amorous, I know I am!  Just as well with my wedding coming up in June (guess where we are getting married – only the No 1 Wedding Venue in Wales!!)

But if you think getting married is scarey, how about your Head Chef organising the Hen weekend in secret ?!!!!  We are at the mercy of our boss, on best behaviour at all times !!! Watch this space !!!

Anyway, at least we know we’ll have excellent food and service on the day. So thats one less thing to worry about (and no, we won’t be cooking it ourselves!)

New A La Carte Menu

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011

After four hous of debate (arguing) we’ve finally agreed on the new A La Carte Menu.  Fresh, seasonal, local ingredients are never in question it’s just the accompaniments and methods we need to agree on(being two women it’s easier at some times of the month than others!!).

We would love you to come along and see what you think, maybe you could even settle some disputes!!

Hope everybody had a great Christmas and a happy new year.  It was a very busy time for us but we got through it and we are still smiling.  After having a couple of days off we back into the swing of things.  My sidekick Jo has been off for the last week celebrating her birthday.  I’m hoping she will be recovered from her break to come back into work next week but with the staff Christmas party looming on Sunday who knows.

Black Friday

Saturday, December 18th, 2010

Yesterday we did see the snow but not enough by any means to stop the hotel functioning as normal.  We did however suffer with some cancellations but we were still extremely busy with a lunchtime disco and a band in the evening not to mention our restaurant and Library bookings.

No time to blog

Thursday, December 16th, 2010

Haven’t had a chance to do a blog entry recently because we have been so busy in the kitchen and haven’t had a chance to annoy Sarah in Reception.  Don’t worry the next installment will be here shortly as we break into the final dash to the finish line.

Bonfire Night

Friday, November 5th, 2010

Managing Director ‘Tim Strong’ is wrapping up warm, with his thick woolly scarf tied tightly around his neck.  He boldly weathers  the rain and wind, armed only with a thin torch beam to penetrate the heavy darkness.  Meanwhile in the hot, busy kitchen, two beautiful young maidens slave at the stove;

Julie: “Even though we’re really busy tonight we must find time to see Tim’s Roman candle explode Jo”.

Jo: “Definately i’ve been looking forward to that all year, even though a Catherine wheel is more my type!”

Julie: “Yes, well, i’m sure Tim has a wide variety to meet all tastes”

Jo: “I’m sure that’s the case, Tim’s so versatile, they don’t call him waffle for nothin you know!”

Julie: “No, they don’t”
